More refunds?

I’ve been contacted by JPS Financial who handled my PPI claim some years ago to say that I may be able to get more compensation. I’m sceptical. Has anyone else had this and if so what was the outcome?

We’re you fully refunded? If so, there’s no more money to be had.

    it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
    their - 'owned by them'
    they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)

If you had a full refund, you get nothing extra e.g. you cannot put a further Plevin complaint or anything like that as you had a full refund
If you had a complaint rejected, you can try a Plevin complaint but you can do this directly without the claims firm
  • thanks Farfetch and brettcta - they hold me that I could get more from the companies that had already refunded me, I'm not sure if I got full or partial refund as it was a number of years ago. It seems risky to me!

If you went ahead they’ll likely push you to take out something called ‘after the event (ATE) insurance’ which can be in the form of a loan or an insurance policy, in your name, for which the CMC can claim against in the event you don’t get any further refunds.

Essentially they’re trying to tag you along so that they can claim against an insurance policy for something that they pretty much know will fail.

Just ring or write to the firms and check if you had a full refund or not. If you had a Plevin refund then again there is nothing extra to be gained as the bank will have closed the case by now and time barred the FOS referral. Only if you didn't get a refund of any kind is it worth asking for a Plevin check.
