Direct debits in someone else's name - credit score impact

Hi,
I live in England and I would like to know what is the impact on credit score if I pay my internet bills with direct debits from someone else's debit card. Is it their credit score which is affected (since the money is coming from their account and is associated to a direct debit of theirs) or is it my credit score being affected since the internet bills are in my name?

Comments

  • The score is pointless ignore that. In relation to how it will be recorded on your credit file whichever name the account is in it will be reported to that credit file not which bank account pays it. That’s if the internet provider reports to the credit agencies at all. I’m not sure if they all do.
  • If it's reported to the CRAs, the only impact will be is a payment bouncing and you not being made aware.

DD's come from a bank account.

Continuous payment authority come from a debit / credit card.

Why not do it from your own account for full control and independence.

As long as the direct debits are paid then its all good.
