Broadband contract transfer from someone else - credit score impact?

Hi,
I live in England and I have just moved into a flatshare where the internet contract has been created 2 years ago. I want to change the name on the internet contract (which was in the previous flatmate's name) to mine, but I have seen that he kept making late payments.
If I change the name on the contract to mine, will my credit score be affected by the past payment history (which was not in my name) because it is associated to that contract which will be then in my name?

As I commented on your other post ignore the score, as to whether it would have a negative impact on your credit file if you take over the account they may start it as a new contract under your name with a clean history but they should be able to answer for sure if you ask them.1

You don't have a credit score, no-one sees it
If you have moved into a place, you should contact the provider and ask to start a new contract. The old one is nothing to do with you and his debts cannot impact your credit file, let them chase him for debts.0
