Atom Bank reluctant to release funds

My wife has an account and decided to withdraw the funds, Atom are making it very difficult and seems to be going beyond the normal security hurdles.
Atom wanted a copy of a recent bank account statement which we sent. The statement is addressed to me but shows clearly that the account is joint. Atom are now saying there is nothing on the statement that shows that it is my wife's account. It seems that NS&I are not the only bank it's difficult to do business with.

I thought Atom allowed withdrawals to the connected account. Why don’t you withdraw the money to there and move it to wherever you want it to end up?0

I like the simplicity of your responses, trouble is they are not simple to Atom.. Our joint account is our linked account and the account the Atom account was opened from. However the story has now changed, It seems that the statement is ok but now Atom have a new system that is proving the problem. Say no more.Named after my cat, picture coming shortly0

Slightly different to your issue OP but I had to call them yesterday to give instructions for the maturity of a fixed rate account rather than through the app. Due to them upgrading their app/system/processes they will have to carry out instructions and transfers manually and they couldn't say if I would receive the funds on the maturity date or the following day.
I was hoping to receive the funds on the 24th (maturity date) in order to put funds into my Premium Bonds account to qualify for April's draw and planning to do smaller transfers to two different NS&I accounts today to see how quickly the funds take to show/be received but the NS&I website is having issues.....ARRGGGHHH!
Anyway hope your issues (and mine!) get sorted quickly.0 -
