Using Paypal to send Euros

Hi

Im buying an item from a seller in Italy who only excepts Paypal. I know all the negative things with this method but is there any pluses and ways I can save myself money using Paypal? Many thanks for any helpful information provided.

Paypal is a relatively safe method of paying, though you will obviously never be 100% safe from scammers.

Your potentially larger issue when buying anything in the EU after Brexit could be extra charges. Lots of people have been taken by surprise from substantial unexpected costs.

Im in Northern Ireland. We, as you probably know, are in a unique position here as regards EU rules. That part doesn't concern me its just hidden PayPal charges.

You are very lucky then! There's no need to worry about hidden Paypal charges - they will tell you how many Euros your payee will get.  That is not to say that Paypal is the cheapest for paying in Euros, because generally they are not. However, you don't seem to have the luxury of choice with your seller.

What I don't know is whether you get the buyer protection if you use Paypal to simply send Euros to someone. I would guess you don't. More than likely you would have to buy from a website that offers Paypal as a payment method for the goods/service they sell.

Just make sure seller send you a invoice to pay via, and does not ask for via friends & family...

No hidden charges. All all very clear when you make the payment.
