Sunday Times Where Was I? competition

The prize:

The winner and guest will stay for two nights, B&B, at Sopwell House in Hertfordshire. This grand, stuccoed mansion stands in 12 acres of parkland at the edge of St Albans and is an easy escape from central London: the fastest train out from St Pancras takes 26 minutes.

The latest addition to the house is the £14 million, three-storey spa, which opened in 2019. Inside, beyond the gym, swimming pools and saunas, lies the Club at Cottonmill, an inner sanctum of hot tubs, a thermal suite and spa garden. Free entry for winner and guest is included in the prize. Meanwhile, they will sleep in one of the mews suites, set around a garden designed by the RHS Chelsea gold medal-winner Ann-Marie Powell.

Sopwell House is also home to two restaurants and a cocktail lounge, and was one of The Sunday Times’s Best Places to Stay in 2020. The prize must be taken before December 22, 2021, subject to availability and excluding Easter and bank holiday weekends.
