are there any good free software downloads to create websites??

I want to create a semi-professional website (no prior experience).

would it be best to sign up to a web host with built in free web building software?? (any recommendation for cheap web hosts, domains etc)

Cheapest (free but with adverts) is Freeservers.com. Look at www.theupsidedownhouse.9f.com this is our house at the moment.

Have a look at www.nvu.com & if you can understand whats what, it's worked really well on other sites I've done. I did have problems uploading, so paid for www.ipswitch.com.

Hosting is with www.easyspace.com & you can use some of their hosting &/or design packages.

I actually fook the offer of a free course, local college, to learn the basics, which was a bit confusing at first, but was also a great help!

If you are looking for a professional looking one, using the free tools won't give you much options or even ability.

Can you describe the site you are wanting to make?
