Freesports (HD) missing on Freeview?

I'm enjoying the offering on Freesports for how much I watch TV and sports. My Freeview does have HD channels but I can't see a Freesports HD channel listed on my guide, despite reading about it online. At the moment, I'm just watching the SD version of the channel.
Does anyone have any ideas or tips on how I can get Freesports HD on Freeview? If you're aware of any devices that I may need to buy, I would be interested to know about these as well please.
I've searched the threads in this forum and couldn't see that anyone had asked this before but apologies if it has! Any help would be appreciated.

Isn’t it only on ch 64, so must not be a Hd version..on freeview isn’t it just the BBC channels, CBBC, ITV, Ch4, Ch5, QVC and Quest that are in hd?

I think exactly the same. But I have seen Freesports HD advertised as Freeview HD channel 64. I'm not sure if it's something only available to Sky, Virgin customers etc. It's got me stumped.0

All the Freeview HD channels are 3 digits 101 - 114 , so channel 64 most definitely isn'tEx forum ambassador

I think it’s not in HD, you just need to have a Hd enabled tv to watch it as it uses the same dvb-2 broadcast signal that enables you to watch the Hd channels from BBC and the like, so an older tv not dvb-2 you wouldn’t be able to see it all, I think it’s still in SD, see link below

Quality varies some programs/ matches sd quality others near enough HD quality .No freeview sports on HD channels 100 and above .Confusion is the fact that its described as Freeview HDChannel 64 .

Freesports mis-describe the channel on their website/publicity (sadly - if people are bothered they must complain to them).
It's transmitted on COM7 using DVB-T2 modulation so needs a Freeview HD compatible receiver.
It's a 544x576 raster and used H264 coding so not the best SD channel quality either (BBC/ITV is 720x 576, C4 704 x 576).

On freesat (and $ky) and probably Cable (Virgin) it seems to be proper HD transmitted.

It'll be down to bitrate capacity on COM7 and/or the price of carriage in HD vs SD.1 -

Non-freesat mode will tune it in on freesat boxes, or with a Foxsat-HDR and the custom firmware you can do better than that. On other non-freesat satellite receivers it's also viewable.
Freesports just need to pay freesat the EPG fees (as they do now with $ky) and it would juts appear overnight.0
