Mysterious recruitment consultant question

Exactly what I thought - There is something else slightly concerning but I am reluctant to disclose on a public forum.74jax said:Every single recruitment person I know is all over socials, its their business.
What is the name of the recruitment company so we can find a generic email for you?
The purpose of this topic was to see if anyone else has had any experience with this sort of thing, because as far as I'm concerned, it isn't normal.
Yes the only way I will know for sure is to ring the main office and verify, but in the meantime I am just gathering intelligence.

'Gathering intelligence'? Aren't you over-thinkings this? All you need to do is ring the office when it opens. They either confirm it's fine, or confirm it isn't.mollieb said:

This is the first and last time I'm going to post like this but what is the purpose of this post? I had already said I will phone the office when it opens before your first post, and now you post that when I said it for a second time.Marcon said:'Gathering intelligence'? I am 'Gathering intelligence' because these set of circumstances I find myself in are peculiar and has made me weary about all job seeking activities I have undertaken. Past, present, and future. Its human nature to seek reassurance, thats it. Otherwise problem solving forums like this wouldnt be half as active as they are.
Thanks everyone for your insights

EDIT - In fairness, there are other things at play you're not aware of because I don't want to disclose them on a public forum, but its very fishy. Hence the post.

If there is other stuff in the background then we obviously can't comment on that, as we don't know. All I'm saying is recruitment in my field is very social, everyone knows everyone, if you're approached then you know you're probably linked via LinkedIn or via a contact. I've never known recruitment in my sector to not have a social presence. But that is me. Again, name the recruitment firm - that's given zero away - and maybe one of us has an email addresses or can find one that shows the generic layout of an email - just because the name is xyz at company, doesn't mean that is how their emails are laid out.mollieb said:EDIT - In fairness, there are other things at play you're not aware of because I don't want to disclose them on a public forum, but its very fishy. Hi Jax, thanks so much but I've verified the the email layout/format is correct for this company. I'm no expert on this, but apparently emails can be spoofed anyway so it may not be worth much.
I will find out tomorrow one way or the other and I'll let you all know whether its legit, or a scam I can shine some light on.

They can be made to appear to be coming from address but if your response is by email and you type in their address then they wouldn't get the reply unless they had access to the genuine account.mollieb said:Hi Jax, thanks so much but I've verified the the email layout/format is correct for this company. SUrely that's only if you REPLY to the email. If you have an email and type from scratch, it will only go to that email.mollieb said:Hi Jax, thanks so much but I've verified the the email layout/format is correct for this company.
