Mysterious recruitment consultant question

I applied for a job on Indeed a few days ago and the recruitment agency has been in touch with me but I am beginning to suspect something isn't right?
It's a big agency well known in the UK and the email address seems to be legit - theirname@recruitmentagency.com but I am unable to find a single trace of this person online. Whether I search their name, phone number, email address, try and find any kind of online presence for this man he simply doesn't exist. Is this normal or explainable?

Can you not just ring the office that he works at and ask to speak with him? That will put your mind at rest - his contact details should be in his email signature.1

If you go on the recruitment agency website and find their general contact us email, is it the same format?mollieb said:I applied for a job on Indeed a few days ago and the recruitment agency has been in touch with me but I am beginning to suspect something isn't right?

@SweetPotatoPie Yeah but he contacted me today and their office is shut until Monday so I cant verify.@74jax Its just a contact form, no actual email address is visible. But the guys email is his name followed by the official website, same format it looks legit.... but something just seems off to me. Every recruitment consultant out there has some kind of online presence. I'm not being recruited for M15 or anything hahaa its just an admin job.0

I can't edit my post, but I can find other recruitment consultants from the same company and branch on LinkedIn etc, just not him

Maybe he is a newbie.1

Not everyone has a public profile - as above - maybe he's new - and there may be a general account they use when a person doesn't actually exist - so they can have a catch all mailbox that gets dealt with by several admin staff - they used to do something similar with credit card letters etc years ago - the person that signed it rarely actually existed - but it gave people a name to write to that a whole team of people could deal with. There could be a number of reasons. If you're unsure - you could always give them a call and say that you're just calling to confirm the person works with them, as you want to be sure it's a genuine email - no company will have an issue with you doing that in todays day and age of scams and cheats left right and centre.2

Equally he could have left the company and his details just haven't been changed over. It could be worse, the person could have been listed as 'trial user'.
I've come across a couple of ex. recruitment consultants say they hated the job and industry, so it probably changes around quite a bit.
I'm a job seeker but don't feel the need to have my CV public or a LinkedIn profile.
I remember once interviewing, with an Amanda only for the rejection email to come from Linda but written as from Amanda.
Personally I had a query with company legitacy come up this week esp after being sent Technician questions as part of the online screening process when applying for customer service at a company direct! that threw me, but after some through digging I was able to work out that it turned out the job advertisement must have been placed in a rush, it nearly had me not applying in any first instance so I became increasingly dubious. There were two company names floating about and had old office location listed too which hadn't updated since the company acquisition and move to new premises in very recent times. Nearly felt duped over the only job all week I had liked the look of in 'gosh is it real moment' but then very fortunately I wasn't left waiting and I've been progressed to interviewing
still my scare helped arm me with the company information! can't say I haven't researched this one well! If you can get hold of the base/local office then that is something.

So wait until tomorrow.mollieb said:@SweetPotatoPie Yeah but he contacted me today and their office is shut until Monday so I cant verify.Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!0 -
Just give the main office a call tomorrow and ask to speak to him if you're concerned.1
