The latest version of Freesat box does work with the "Q" LNBs.0
-
1. Freesat BBC ONE HD Scotland, Wales and NI all carry their local news services. So red screen means it ain't BBC One Scotland, but England you are watching.
2. Q LNB is a simple enough swap out for a legacy Quad LNB, if you can stand the non-freesat TV tuner system.
3. Free to air satellite receivers in some TV sets are a right pita to set up wanted channels as favourites and keep up to date cf $ky or freesat epgs when TV channels move transponder. Rarely do they have more than now/next epg either.
Consider the latest freesat PVR (£200+) which is compatible with the existing Q LNB.
4. The TV aerial may well work if a distribution amplifier is powered up and/or replaced if taken by the previous owners. (Ditto if a masthead power supply was removed - often an error by helpful removals firms). Have a good look at the aerial, cabling and where it goes... it could be fixed quite easily?

Just read that freesat and freeview are about to merge and launch a new combined streaming service and much more.
