Early 90s semi, suffering mould in one room in the external corner, and had a small trickle of water on a couple of very rainy days in another bedroom, below where a corner is on the roof. Thus far had 5 quotes!! Most seem to agree that there is an issue with rotting felt which they have all diagnosed immediately from the ground from water marks on the facia. However none seem to agree on the next steps!
- Didn't go up, said new roof £6000, er no.
- Recommended by a colleague. Went up, had a good look, says tile needs repair where the leak was and that needed some refelting above the mouldy room. Also partially blamed the cavity wall insulation and wanted to put some vents in the loft to mitigate this. £600
- Wanted to just replace the felt along that side. Didn't go up. £700.
- Did go up but said that the broken tile was all that needed doing. £250
- Similar to 3, but wanted to replace the felt with some harder wearing plastic stuff. Didn't go up. £450. Very dismissive of the broken tile theory but didn't go up.
