Debenhams store card int & ppi

Can anyone help with charges that have been added to a store card for “health & accident” insurance with Debenhams. I have had this card for 16 years I have never missed a payment as it’s paid via direct debit. I am 99.9% certain that I called Debenhams/Ge capital (then) when I had my 1st statement to ask for this charge to be removed but was told that it was a condition of the card. I already had health cover privately and also travel insurance with my bank account so I know it would be of no use to me. Due to a messy divorce, house moves etc I have not had the details/card inc statements on this account for approx 10 years. I have now contacted them (Newday) and discovered that this insurance has been charged to my account which is also included in the interest calculation. I know that the PPI deadline has passed and I have been stupid enough to just leave this card without checking anything before now . Rough calculation this insurance has cost me £1,600! On a similar theme the card balance itself was approx £2,500 in 2008 as I lost all details for this account the dd was always taken for the min amount approx £45 pm. This means that I have paid approx £8,600 towards this balance. My current balance is £1,300 meaning it has only reduced by £900.00. Do I have a claim against Debenhams?
