Lloyds Business Banking - paper statements

I have three small business accounts at Lloyds. I reconcile my banking at irregular intervals and download my statements for the period that I require via online banking.
However every month I get paper statements in the post, which I end up shredding, because I have already downloaded what I require.
I have been told by my Lloyds manager that I cannot turn off paper statements. The best he could do is change the frequency to once per year, which would mean receipt of huge parcels every 12 months which again would need shredding.
Surely in the "green" climate that we are encouraged to embrace, this is an astonishing waste of paper and postage.
Anybody else had similar issues?

Perhaps many organisations and small businesses or even sole traders prefer paper statements and that’s why they still send them out.

Plus many organisations probably don’t have the time to regularly check online for all transactions like you do, so a monthly paper statement is the way they may use to check their transactions.

Just because it’s not convenient for you doesn’t mean it’s the same for others.
Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both.

Just because OP wants to go paperless doesn't mean that he thinks this should be imposed on others!

Many banks offer the choice and that seems appropriate....
  • Sorry, I think I may have been misunderstood -  I'm not trying to impose paperless statements on anyone. But surely I should be able to opt out of receiving paper statements, but Lloyds will not let me.

Is there no option to switch off paper statements via the online portal?
  • No, not for business accounts and I confirmed this with my account manager. Crazy waste of paper!
