Hi
This is a strange one..
We had one of them stick room fragrance freshener things and I thought it smelt awful so stuffed it in a cupboard until bin day.
That was about a year ago... The cupboard was under the sink in an unused kitchen.. And was totally forgotten.
About a month ago I found it and took it out.. Now the smell seems to be engrained in the cupboard and I can't seem to get it out!
Any ideas?

Try Febreze or some other odour eliminator?

I never tried it personally, but I hoped it just kills existing smells, not adds a new one.Hydrogen peroxide would be my next choice.0

Try a cup of bicarbonate of soda left in there for a few days. That might do the trick.0

I'd go a bit further with the bicarb. Mix some with lemon juice and scrub the cupboard, use white vinegar and go over it again. Then leave a cup of bicarb in the cupboard. Refresh after a week and repeat with new cups full.It will take some time but will eventually fadeYou can buy box or pots full from local cheapie or hardware stores. The white vinegar too. If you can't find the spray stuff the cheap stuff from supermarkets will do.
viral kindness .....kindness is contageous pass it on
The only normal people you know are the ones you don’t know very well

I'm curious to know what stick room air freshener things you're referring to. Is it one of those wet things in a plastic container?
Flash now do a bicarbonate spray. That should work.0 -
An onion. Cut it in half and leave in there for a few days.(works with tobacco smoke - don't know about "freshener things".

Cat litter. Works really well i.e. musty wardrobes, anywhere there is a "lingering" smell as opposed to temporary. Just put some in a dish or bowl and wait. Neutralises odour rather than covering up. Hope it works for you.0
