    If the freehold is shown as being owned by the council, then for whatever reason your purchase was either not completed, or was completed but not registered.
    ut cross that bridge when you come to it.
    Start by checking as edddy suggests - it's only £3.00 and takes 5 minutes online.
    Is not about the money but for any reason I can't find the option to check online. I see only the option to get a specific form and send the request by post.
    Are you on the right website/webpage? It's here:
    * enter the address & click 'search'
    * select the freehold titel and clicl 'purchase'
    * Create an account in just two simple steps. Create Account
    * agree terms etc
    * pay and download title

    Thank you to both of you. I've managed to create an account online and download the document under "tenure" where it says leasehold. There are only details of purchasing the property without any word of freehold.
    It seams like there is another document under "tenure" caution which i can't download.
    It says: "
    Sorry, there is no price paid/value stated information available for this property".
    My understanding is that the freehold was never registered but fees paid long time ago.

    Have you actually tried looking up a registered title for the freehold? Bear in mind the address will be whatever the freehold comprises, not identical to your own property.

    It seams like there are 2 files on Land registry. One which I have downloaded and it says we are the owners of our property, price we've paid when we bought the house and also mentions the property is leasehold. Then the 2nd file which i can't downloaded it says 'unavailable'. I'm trying to contact the solicitor for weeks without any success. I've got an email from him, June 2020 that everything was finalised but no proof sent. What shall I do in this situation please?

    Is it perhaps "unavailable" because registration is still being processed by the Land Registry?

    If you're having trouble figuring out what the position is, I suggest you just get your solicitor (i.e. whoever you're using for your sale) to sort it out.

    So just to make sure... you're seeing a search result list for your property... and it's showing an entry for "Tenure: Leasehold" and an entry for "Tenure: Freehold" - like the two examples below - but there is no information available against "Tenure: Freehold"?

    example 1

    example 2

  • 2nd option is about the driveway wich has been sort it out in 2010 as per same solicitor. I think the 3rd option should be the freehold details which are not available. I can't access the 3rd option.

    I suggest you contact that solicitor for the updated title since they say it has been finalised.  If they are not responding and it is not showing on the HMLR website, then you will have to take the advice of your current solicitor.  You could also post on the Land Registry board here, giving them the title number of your leasehold and they can advise you whether there is also a freehold title registered for the whole building.
  • We've just listed the property and did not manage to find another solicitor. To tell you the truth not sure where to find a good/supportive solicitor. We definitely need some recommendations.
