PIP Application

I don't know if this is obvious to everyone, however just a prompt for anyone about to embark on their PIP application form and has difficulty writing etc. Having confirmed with DWP that it was ok to do so, I completed the PIP2 application form by simply referencing each descriptor section to a printed appendix entry. It made the process much easier in that any changes were simply a matter of re-printing that page, and in addition it avoids the problem of fitting everything into the descriptor answer box section. Just make sure each additional sheet includes your name and National Insurance number. Hope this helps.

Yes... exactly what I do...or rather did in most recent review form... they seem to make the process about as user unfriendly as possible by trying to force manual form completion which beggars belief considering who the user group is. But this is one way to make things more efficient and save work in future re-assessments."Do not attribute to conspiracy what can adequately be explained by incompetence" - rogerblack3

Agreed. Just make sure you don’t miss any of the little boxes to tick.1

Hi there, Got a message to say that DWP had received the assessment back from ATOS so called to request a copy of the report. Have been awarded 23 points for Daily Living and 12 points for Mobility, in addition the review period section has the "unlikely to change" box is ticked. So after one heck of a wait it looks like it may all be in order. Overall the assessment is reflective of my claim but there are a few areas where they seem not to have fully grasped my problems for eg. I can drive so my grip strength must be ok. However trusting the DWP rubber stamp the award then it would seem daft pursuing these any further. Thanks for all the help along the way. Cheers.

Hi, I had an accident last week and lost the best part of 3 fingers from my right hand. I can't write with my left hand so will have to ask my wife to fill the form in for me. Can you explain what the printed appendix entry is please? is it a word document I create myself?0

Importantly if creating pages to print to go with the official form... ensure you putt at least your name, NiNo, and date on each page.
Yes you'd create them yourself but there may be some templates out there - to be honest though it would probably take longer to find a template than to create your own given the little information on such pages that is generic."Do not attribute to conspiracy what can adequately be explained by incompetence" - rogerblack1 -

If you are claiming PIP because of this accident then do be aware that you need to have had the condition for at least 3 months and expect it to last at least a further 9 months.
