StockX are essentially a modern day Escrow agent, the business is designed to prevent the identities of the seller and buyer being known to each other.

I'm fairly certain that this wouldn't be legal in the UK, I seem to remember that there is proscribed information that must be provided as part of the transaction and that cannot happen if the seller is anonymous.

It does highlight this if you read the bullet point above the one you have quoted

You generally pay via PayPal and the payment goes to StockX ('the merchant') rather than the seller themselves.

I wonder if they generally don't 'promote' returns as it's a marketplace
