Although you're probably hoping for predictions about whether the price will go up or down (which would be pure guesswork), a more pertinent question would be whether you'd have achieved whatever you expected to get out of the investment if you sold now?  In other words, are you holding until the price reaches $x, or profit of $y, or waiting for a specific date, or just holding without any real plan?

This is the wrong type of forum for such a question.  I suggest "Stocktwits"

I decided the name would be better spelt differently after stumbling across it once and reading some of the drivel....
“Like a bunch of cod fishermen after all the cod’s been overfished, they don’t catch a lot of cod, but they keep on fishing in the same waters. That’s what’s happened to all these value investors. Maybe they should move to where the fish are.”   Charlie Munger, vice chairman, Berkshire Hathaway

I think the poster is an ASDA employee and has some Walmart shares in the ASDA sharesave scheme , and has been given the option of keeping the shares or selling the shares as Walmart have sold ASDA and the scheme is closing. The employees have 6 months to decide. The answer all depends on their personal circumstances as nobody can predict the price of the shares in 6 months time.
  • She needs assurance in writing that she would still have the option to continue, convert and sell if she is made redundant in the interim.

Assuming she has that, Jenny should invest for a further six months. There is a slight chance of a major fall in the share price in the next six months but the downside is limited to no overall loss on the total investment, and presents the opportunity to keep on buying £10 notes for £7 for a while longer. It’s a good deal.

I predict that in 6 months, your Walmart shares will be worth nothing.

    or £$¥€50 zillion

    or somewhere in-between.

    (you're welcome)
