AXA PPP Health Insurance using Covid history not to cover claims

I have had 2 bouts of Covid, it's not pleasant, unfortunately it's also appears it's being used by AXA as a company policy to ignore claims.
When I tried to claim for a referral for a investigation procedure ( for a potentially very serious condition) and mentioned my history of Covid, I got the feeling my claim was being treated as suspicious. I got the third degree from non-medical staff about my history and was from the start for ed to defend myself against Long Covid.
From there things started to get weirder, first they asked just confirmation from my GP that it was not Covid related. When that was confirmed (that it was not), they still refused and wanted further detsils. This is despite now supporting medical opinion from 2 specialist teams and my GP that I do not have Long Covid.
Despite all of this they advised the hospital where I was meant to have an investigative procedure that they would not authorize on the basis I was suffering from Long Covid ( despite there being no clinical information to support this, and multiple independent sources to contradict this).
It appears that non medically trained AXA personel are blanket refusing investigative procedures where there is a history of Covid, even against strong medical evidence. This is very convenient for AXA since investigation procedures would then confirm that there was no Covid basis for refusing claims.
I doubt I'm alone in this given the concerted behaviour of AXA personnel in trying to block my access in understand ung the seriousness of my condition.
AXA even shared there 'opinion' with the Hospital administrator (which was based on my medical information), which is contrary to the DPA.
Tbh I'm stunned by there unprofessional behaviour, given the high regard they had in the past within the health industry.

There's a lack of certainty, but early indications are that having suffered Covid there could be long term bodily damage. Data will take time to be collated and analysed. With the disease new , research will be ongoing. Probably why insurers are at the very least cautious. As the consequences are very obvious.0

Another interpretation is that the AXA PPP are using Covid uncertainty for financial gain. If it can be shown that claimants are being subjected to Covid searches as a blanket policy to refuse claims, and putting lives at risk ( particularly given the impact of Covid on our NHS) this could be a national scandal.
How many AXA PPP customers will die due to this existential and / or potentially financially motivated caution because they were denied access to early warning diagnostics? In a time when our NHS is fighting for our lives putting pressure on the entire health system, it appears that AXX PPP are using the pandemic as a profit centre by de-risking future claims without supporting medical research.
The impression I am getting is that this is far from an isolated case.
