Baby Sleeping Problems

A few weeks ago we changed her cot to a bed as she was trying to climb out off the cot. We decided it was the right time for her to learn to sleep in her own bed. We had a week of absolute hell (she was awake 5hrs in the middle of the night for 3 nights running) but we were consistent and she's been sleeping almost 12 hours a night in her own bed! As our little one was so dependent on us to fall asleep we put her in her bed and each night gradually moved further away. So the first night I was in the bed with her when I put her down, the next night I was sat beside the bed, and gradually further away each night until we were just putting her down and leaving.
Honestly our little one is so much livelier and happier during the day now she's getting a proper sleep at night!
Best of luck!Debt Free as of December 2020 👏

"Good Night, Sleep Tight" by Kim West The Sleep Lady transformed my son and daughter-in-law's lives after they started using the techniques when their baby was a few months old. My now two year old grand-daughter even asks to go to bed when she is tired! As some of the other posters said, it's all about routine and sticking to this with daytime naps was quite restrictive for a few months, but they certainly thought it was worth it.0

Do you do a bedtime routine?
Babies wake for many reasons same as adults but as adults we know to go to back to sleep, babies don't. Babies will eventually learn. I have 2 daughters, done exactly the same with both one slept through from 8weeks and the other is now 2.5years old and still wakes up in the night.LBM Debt Total : £48,326.50

Our little one has the following routine:
Goes upstairs between 7.30/8 for a bath ,(every other night) and relax time with daddy. We have a projector which lights up ceiling with soothing wavy lights. Then between 8.20/8.30 mummy takes over and gives bottle/puts her down to bed.
She is in a next to me crib at the moment as not quite 6 months (and will probably stay a bit longer). She initially needed rocking and putting down asleep but now is put down whatever stage she is at.
Ewan the sheep goes on and she holds a hand to her cheek and generally falls asleep within 10mins. 90% is alseep by 9pm.
We would like it to be earlier but she sleeps through till 7am usually and when we bought it forward she woke earlier. Maybe once or twice a week she will wake in the night but we never pick her up. She will self soothe back to sleep or again hold a hand till she sleeps.
Huckleberry app is good for naps time and making sure a routine is stuck too. We are on a 4 nap plan at the moment.
She was napping on the chest but we introduced naps in the crib, again down awake and we stay in the room till she is asleep. It took about 7 days for her to get used to it and sleep quickly.
She has one nap a day held and we never let her sleep past 7pm or it becomes a danger nap & she won't go to bed.
We are now transitioning to naps in cot in her own room for 2 middle naps. Again it's taking A bit longer for her to doze off because it's new and interesting but she does.
On average she is getting between 13 and 14 hrs a day asleep in using naps.
We have found the app really good for routine as you log feeds and sleep and can see the pattern. It predicts nap time and for us it's always spot on.0
