Tenants in common after death

I lost my husband 6 months ago and we had put our house in “Tenants in common” so now 1/2 of the property belongs to my son & grandsons as per his will , I presume I have to inform someone of the change in ownership and can I do this myself rather than pay a solicitor, there isn’t any inheritance tax to pay.

Hubby's share has gone into a trust with you as the life tenant.
