Would one missed payment of £40 that went to default when all his other accounts were amazingly fine and in great order result in a 'Poor' score? (Not that anyone should take notice of a score)

Why would he take a £10k loan for home improvements at an extortionate rate if the only problem was Virgin? Although it was frustrating that they took ages to get it sorted - I'd have still have sorted it first before applying for a large amount of credit.

Is there more to his story than he's telling?
  • I had a similar issue with Virgin - took me a while to have my equipment collected as we moved home (must be a common reason for finishing contract, to be honest) and then they left a £50 charge on my Experian and Equifax files.  These were not shown as defaults, luckily.  I wrote to CreditFileAmendments@virginmedia.co.uk and they replied after 12 days (they said within 14 days) agreed the error and promised to remove the credit showing within 14 days.

It's certainly worth watching/checking your file if you've ever used Virgin.

Saw it yesterday and just rolled my eyes over it.

Can't have much sympathy for the guy really.  Why did he not make sure this was sorted?  Why did he apply for a loan before sorting it, knowing he'd end up paying a very high rate of interest?  The "home improvements" don't appear to be all that essential that they couldn't have waited until this was sorted out.

And 1/10 for a very poor compo face.
