  • We use our clubcard vouchers to pay for ferries to Ireland, RAC membership, trips to cinema and vouchers for eating out. You get 3 times the value rather than just face value against price of shopping.

I use mine for magazine subscriptions.  Years ago though when you could still get 4 times the value I paid for a foreign holiday, I wouldn't spend anything like enough in there now though.
  • Oh I know, lots of people do manage to use their vouchers to great effect which is brilliant 🙂 I always feel guilty for not doing this which is why they’d built up quite a bit, I end up just keeping them forever!

Previously I’ve used them to pay for our delivery saver (think you get 1.5x face value) but we’re nowhere near renewal for this, I forgot to add the vouchers as a payment method in the summer when it renewed.

The issue with the clubcard partners is we don’t go to the cinema, eat out (except when invited by family), go abroad or read magazines 😆 I have in the past trawled through the clubcard partners and none of it was ever anything we actually needed at the time. Whereas we always need groceries 😆

Plus it put a huge smile on Red’s face today as he had declined to put a bottle of whisky and bottle of baileys in the shop (usual Christmas treats) due to cost so when I discovered the vouchers he was really pleased to be able to have them guilt free. I’d rather have that happy face of his than use them book a meal out that we didn’t really want 🙂

Next time they build up I will check the clubcard partners again just in case there’s anything useful at that time though, it’s a good reminder!

  • Looking at it you only get face value now if using them to pay for delivery saver 🙄 as I remembered, most of the attractions and things are based in England. But some of it may be useful as the kids get bigger if they want to go to a theme park etc, so I’ll keep that in mind!

  • In the past, I've used my club card points for buying rail cards and magazine subscriptions. As well as when eating out when we are away.

I am not even sure I have earned any points this year, I can't remember the last time. I went to Tesco.
