Forgotten Current Account now shows as default

I had a current account that I stopped using around 15 years ago. Yesterday it popped up on my credit file as default with a £165 balance. 4 years ago I moved from the address this account is registered to so have had no mail from the bank for at least that long.
If the debt is mine I have no issue with paying it off and have the cash to do so, but can anything be done about the default showing on my report as other than this I am all good and want to avoid 6 years worth of issues due to it? Should a dormant account suddenly appear as default 15 years since last use?
As it is I will need to go in branch to deal with as I have no idea what the passwords etc are to discuss on the phone or prove who I am.
Cheers

But they'd need to find out why it defaulted first.  It may be something that has happened relatively recently and the default date is actually corect.

What's the bank and the account?  I seem to recall a poster experiencing something similar with an account that introduced a monthly charge, where they'd likewise failed to advise the bank of a change of address and so didn't receive the notifications about the change in terms, thereby inadvertently running up a debt in the same way....
