Demand before court action VCS Pollock Fairbridge

Hi
My partner got a threatening letter from these solicitors. He is a Glasgow taxi driver and picked up people in a drop off only area at Edinburgh airport (they have always done this).
He wrote to the company saying this but they said he has to pay so he ignored the letter and now we’ve got this demand.
We are in Scotland - What do people suggest he does?
Thanks

Suggest he/you reads the NEWBIE sticky for advice - especially about Scotland.2

OP , VCS are unlikly to chase a single ticket in scotland due to the court system in scotland they cannot charge for legal representation , therefore
if they brought this before the courts they would have to pay solisitor out of there own money (that is a solisitor that is allowed to trade in scotland ) the £60 would be argued and removed and basicly they would be out of pocket
what VCS have done here is contact the small and young (4 yrs old now) solisitors and suggest that if they write a letter on there letterhead and get a payment they can pocket the £60
I note they are saying "within 7 days " in england a letter before court has to be 31 days , and i expect scotland to follow , as 7 days is not enough
as per stickies , file the letter , do not contact vcs or solisitors , IF they want to take this to sherrifs court , come back and update1 -
We have seen several of these appear on the forum very recently.
The problem for the regulars is that most don't know enough about the Scottish Simple Procedure, Act of Sederunt, to give specific advice.
As above however, it is extremely unlikely that a parking scammer will pursue a claim for a single ticket as it will cost a lot more than it is worth, and a lot harder to progress through a Scottish court.
That doesn't mean they won't, just that we haven't seen any yet.
The scammers are getting desperate because their income source has been drastically cut by covid. Up to 80% reduction in income is being reported. Oh dear, how sad, never mind.
Do not reveal the driver's identity under any circumstances. Only ever refer to The Driver and The Keeper, who are two different people. At the moment, a keeper in Scotland cannot be held liable for a parking scamvoice, only a driver.
Personally I would await a real claim from the Scottish courts, then check that it complies with the Scottish Act of Sederunt before doing anything.
Also check up on how byelaws affect things in Scotland, because this side of the border, the driver can, and the owner may be liable, but the keeper cannot. That's another reason for not blabbing about the driver's identity.
Has the keeper complained to the Airport owners/CEO yet? This will drastically and adversely affect airport business if taxi drivers decide not to transport passengers and staff and boycott the place.
This is another reason for complaining to the keeper's MP as well as Ms Sturgeon.
If there is a taxi operators' trade association, they should be ganging up and putting pressure on the airport and the government as well.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister. All my screwdrivers are cordless."You're Safety Is My Primary Concern Dear" - Laks6 -
As said, this is a problem for a scottish legal as they are probably not aware that they are threatening on a fake claim.
Another legal called CST have mail bombed Scotland with fake claims and Ian Blackford is fully aware as is Pete Wishart. No doubt the Scottish legal system already know about the fake scam that comes from England
It seems this Scottish solicitor is clueless and whilst the following case happened in England, judges are judges, this solicitor could well end up with egg on their face
VCS by the way is a sister company of Excel
EXCEL v WILKINSON ..... claim struck out for ABUSE OF PROCESS. DDJ Jackson who is now HHJ Jackson made this ruling.

Let's see if this solicitor is brave enough to go to court, given the evidence and that this scam comes from England
