What is your opinion on hybrid BMW 330e M Sport 2016

Hello,
I am looking to purchase a second hand vehicle and I have come across a 2016 BMW 3 series 330E M sport with 57k miles. I have never had a hybrid and I do a lot of short commutes, school run and to work so thought this may be a good choice but wanted to know if anyone has experience of a hybrid car and is 57k classed as high mileage, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  • difficult to advise when you have not said what you are looking for... so I would suggest you read reviews to see if it's what you're looking for? 57k is not high mileage, it's a bit higher than average for that age.

Thank you - I know I want a BMW 3 series. I previously had a Yaris so was looking to upgrade in size to accommodate my 6ft 3 husband and 10 year old daughter. It will be used mostly for short runs and then will be used as a family car for trips. I have read so many reviews.

If you like the BMW and the price is correct, it's probably a reasonable choice for your type of mileage.
I have no first hand experience, so just basing comments on internet reviews.

I suspect like most who drive a PHEV, you'll realise the benefits of running on EV alone and very quickly start looking to get a full EV next with a range of 150miles+ so you don't have to worry about plugging it in every single night at a slower (3kW) rate of charge.

Just be aware that the EV only range on these in the real world are likely to range from around 10miles when it's as cold as it was last week, to about maybe ~20 in the 20C+ summer months.

I hope your Yaris came with a full set of brakes.  I have heard that some don't have rear brakes ;)

Cool. Did you consider 4 series gran coupe? I was looking at 3 series and went for 4GC as the boot is so much more practical for family car (I also think the 4 looks better than the 3).
