Morning! Same here Nels, grey and drizzly. I'm not building anything exciting, just two extensions, side and back as a garage and a kitchen/bathroom/pantry hopefully. I know it's only us two here but these houses were designed in the 30's and then ours was built at the end of the developemnt in the 50's so our kitchen is two and a bit meters by a meter and a half maximum. My worktop preparation space is the size of the washing machine, which is underneath. And I certainly need a lot more space if I'm to spend time making more horrible carrot cakes, yes?
And we'll be building, ourselves, a garden room at some point too. Which means I'd better get to grips with Sketch Up. I did look at it before and it made my brain hurt.So today we have the usual, find a recipe for chicken thighs which I took out last night, something one pot wonder-y and maybe some small stuff. Maybe go into the garage of doom and sort that out a bit to make room for some wood. I don't know what happened to my drive to do anything, it seems to have gone for a long journey somewhere else without me.Ruby, continued hugs and thoughts. AOD hope you're mending. Snoozer, me too. We've fallen into OH has one meal a day that i cook and then he snacks on whatever, cereal mostly and I have a breakfast of sorts. Times like these I admire my mother who managed most of the cooking for years with no respite while also working. I think modern living has spoiled us two in that meals out used to be a regular part of our lives so I didn't have to think every day of what to cook. Maddie, how awful for you all. Csarina what does DB stand for?I know the usual, OH, DH etc but is it dear brother or....? Sam, if your son is saying the house is a tip, remind him he lives there too and is more than capable of helping to clean it. dumpling, hope they can fix you soon, let's hope you don't end up in there again. Hey all reading along, stay safe and sane by any means necessary except murder of course. Then again.....Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi13 -
Hello all, the sun is shining here after a stormy night. We have been for our jabs, no problem with us going together, neither of us felt a thing and also in and out in half an hour, even with a 15mins sit down at the end. Fab service too. We learnt that it may not be as effective for Mr Fix It because of his cancer drugs
so he will ask his oncologist as he has telephone consultation on March 2nd. We both have a metal taste in our mouths but I don't know if it's anything to do with the jab, anyway we've both just had a coffee and a chocolate bar...... well they didn't give us a badge or lollipop
I have put a load in the wm but don't know if anything else will be done today as I'm suffering with muscle pain in my shoulder/back.....all because I stretched when getting up and I heard something go crack ! Think I'm falling apart quicker than I ever imagined.TA well done on Sparklegate.Nelski ouch on the meter readings, it does come as a shock, especially if you have no-one to physically talk to. I'm sure things will even out in the summer though. Have a gentle hug my BFF. I had my bills yesterday too, both estimated again even though the meter man read them
Don't know why he bothered especially in this time of lockdown.Sam the house and all the dust will still be there tomorrow or the next day. Take care of yourself. Hugs.Hugs to the poorly ones and anyone suffering with anything mentally or physically.Take care all, stay safe and keep wellnan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently13 -
Hi all, some heavy rain this morning but brightening up now. I was shattered last night as I was minding the DGC all day We had a walk to the park in the afternoon, got an icecream from the cafe & sat on some steps to eat them, then they went off to play on the playground. I did end up feeling the cold as I was just stood watching. DGS has just been picked up by his Mum, he's been busy making a poster.DS dropped him here before he went to work. I enjoyed having them for a bit longer, being half term. Now DS has his own house they don't stay overnight here like they used to.SM and veg box deliveries done this morning so we're all stocked up again.Maddie sorry the news wasn't better.Dumpling hope you make a speedy recoveryTake care all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'.
