Halifax mortgage protection

I was told by the Halifax a few years ago that I never had ppi and therefore had no claim. Early last year I was contacted by a ppi claim company and was told I was able to claim for mis sold mortgage protection cover. I was phoned by the Halifax/ St Andrews insurance about a claim for time off sick I was asked if i would now be cancelling the claim for mis sold MPC, I presumed I would need to in able to make the claim for time off sick, or else why ask? I feel a bit foolish now I've discovered I could of still claimed the Mis sold mortgage protection even though I have made a claim on it. Can anyone help? Thanks Steve. Ps received the call early July 2020

The call from Halifax/ St. Andrews - what was that about? Had you tried to make a claim on the policy (I.e. you were off sick recently and needed to draw on the benefits) or did they call you about a complaint you’d registered and asked you about a historic claim for sickness?helpful tips
it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
their - 'owned by them'
they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)0 -
I tried to make a claim, sorry not for sickness, for time off due to covid.0

You need to decide if you're making a claim or a complaint.
What is it you want?0 -

Not being sick but just not working is not a reason to claim on the policy. its not that type of insurance.

You either complain about PPI being miss-sold or make a claim on the policy. You can't complain it was miss-sold and still have a claim on it as the complaint says you didn't want it in the first place, and the claim says you did need it, so you weren't miss-sold?2
