All sorted with EDF.  Spoke to complaints who said since unoccupied and no usage the bill will be 0 as of today.  No impact on credit report.
For council my partner did get letters from them at the BTL but then afterwards they sent one to her home which she has now paid.  Presumably she would not get bad credit given the council corrected the address and sent to her actual residence?
For water we were told nothing is due if unoccupied.  So whenever new tenants move in they will need to register.  Landlord does not need to register for the unoccupied period.  Were we misled again?
Anything else we need to be aware of, broadband, other services?

With all due respect, shouldn't she have done her research on this before starting up a business?

Great all turned out ok!  With property empty, elect/gas bills would be at a bare minimum anyway.

Being a Landlord is a complicated business and she needs to be more aware of her responsibilities.

She is hopefully complying with all current legislation regards being a Landlord?

If other services are in tenants name and they did not pay, there will be eventually debt collectors bills sent. Send them back not known at this address.

    Its all about learning.
