Name spelt wrong on vehicle registration

Good morning, yesterday I had 2 parasites break into my house, find my car and van keys and stole them both off my drive. I managed to track my car down but not my van. I rang my insurance and they said then needed some information off me, one of which is a picture of my V5C. When I got it out I noticed they spelt my last name wrong on it. Instead of my surname ending in TI it ends in M. Is this going to effect my claim as I have been told if there is any slight mistakes with your details, they will void the policy? Any help on this issue would be much appreciated. Many thanks

It should not cause a problem as long as it is clearly a spelling mistake.

If the change of keeper notification was hand written I can see how T an I could run together to look like an M. If the insurance query it put it in those terms and common sense will apply.
  • Many thanks. I just don’t want to give the insurance any reason to void my claim
