Suzie will be 20 in Sept '21.
Went for her mot last week and sailed through (well, apart from EML lit due to cam sensor, now sorted). About half the mileage expected for a 20 yr old vehicle at 103k. Been in our lives 6 years this year, minimal servicing as needed. A 1.8Turbo Beetle. Bought off my mate in 2015 for £750 knowing she needed 2 tyres and oil at the time so roughly £900 all in?
Drives like a dream, does funny things with the radio sometimes but maybe our tastes in music are not the same/she likes a tune to keep her company when we park her up (radio occasionally pops back on!).
Now that's what I call saving the planet, no scrappage here!
No complaint, no question, just feeling pleasantly smug.

I'm writing a book on plagiarism. It wasn't my idea.

Nice story :-)Just before Christmas my neighbour posted on Facebook that their beloved Toyota Verso had finally gone to the great scrapyard in the sky. Not sure how old it was, but it had 217,000 on the clock - I reckon that's not bad going by anyone's standards :-)2
