Obsolete flue for Ideal Classic 250FF Boiler
i need to source an obsolete flue for my Ideal Classic 250FF boiler as it’s falling apart so I’ve had to have the boiler cut off despite the fact that the boiler is working. I’ve phoned about 20 spares companies without success so it’s looking like I may have to pay for a new boiler instead which is really annoying as it’s working! Any suggestions? The part no. Is 150308. Thanks!

I feel your pain, I’ve was told this time last year that the flue of my Ideal Classic boiler is ‘on it’s last legs’ but as the part has been discontinued it will mean a new boiler will be the only option when it does finally ‘go’ ☹️2.22kWp Solar PV system installed Oct 2010, Fronius IG20 Inverter, south facing (-5 deg), 30 degree pitch, no shadingEverything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endMFW #4 OPs: 2018 £866.89, 2019 £1322.33, 2020 £1337.07
2021 £1250.00, 2022 £1500.00, 2023 £1500, 2024 £13502025 target = £1200, YTD £460

You need to try and find out if other brands used the same parts. For example, we have a Glow Worm Boiler - but it is essentially just a badge. The "inners" were shared by many other brands. Quite often it can be cheaper to source a part under brand "A" that is exactly the same part needed for brand "B"
So while under the name "Ideal" the part is now obsolete - with a bit of research, you may source the same part, but under another brand name. Good luck0 -

The housing estate where I live were fitted out with Ideal Classics FF when built in 1998. Next door neighbour had a new boiler installed in November due to flue failure and obsolete replacement parts. I had a google search and it did seem to be the flue was the only spare part no longer available. Didn’t check Ideal direct.0

I also feel your pain. I had a good look around for you last night and couldn't find a source. This link suggests that Mytub know that they can't be obtained from Ideal, so you are left with looking for merchants with obsolete stock or eBay:
Ideal 150308 Na 600mm Standard Classic Flue Kit : Ideal Boilers (mytub.co.uk)
I think the part you are looking for might also be described as "Flue Kit B" for a Classic FF 250 boiler.
Good luck
The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0
