Velux Windows for Loft Conversion

We are planning a loft conversion and have identified the large Velux windows we’d like but they are pricey. The woman at Velux basically told us it would be cheaper to buy them from a supplier - can anyone suggest a good value supplier, please?

  • Are you fitting them yourself? There are plenty of other roof window brands other than Velux too. Any decent builders merchant will sort you out, except if you don't have a trade account you won't get a discount. Whereas your installer might and also be prepared to factor that into the cost of the job. Assuming that is, you aren't doing it yourself.

Even without a discount it can be cheaper from a dealer than directly from the manufacturer.

When we had our extension we didnt have velux brand windows.  My builder who is also a relative recommended a different brand.  When the electrician connected them, they also thought them excellent.  I will find out the brand and edit this post.

Are you happy with your DIY kitchen? Any snags / regrets to report?
