Hi. Can anyone advise from experience. My wife and I are opening a joint bank account. Does the donor account in a bank account switch have to also be a joint account?

You can switch a sole into a joint one
However, if you are after a switch bonus, you'd do better switching from sole to sole, as both account holders could qualify for a switch bonus. You can still also have a joint account at the same bank, and move any SOs and DDs from the sole accounts manually.1
