    With BT as I have to spend much time away from home. The ability to 'piggy back' onto other BT WiFi routers is so beneficial that it is well worthwhile paying the extra (and is cheaper than paying for a second BB connection at inlaws).

    With Virgin Media on Fibre 200 using SuperHub 3. The wifi from this unit is atrocious! I mean bad, really really bad. 

    I knew this was going to be the case from reading reviews online, so immediately put it in modem mode and used a TPLink router initially and now use an Orbi Mesh network. 

    But there are many people not as technically minded (I witness it daily in local facebook, nextdoor and whatsapp groups) who suffer bad wifi for years.

    Last week we contacted Virgin Media to haggle down our phone / TV / broadband bundle price as it is coming up for renewal next month, and of course they're hiking prices again. While the people we spoke to were polite and trying their best to be helpful, we had to contend with lengthy delays as most staff seem to be working from home and Virgin's computer systems had crashed. (I suspect that's because so many people were doing the same as us.)

    We eventually got a cheaper deal, but it took several calls and escalation to Tier 2 Retentions to get there. I think Virgin rely on people giving up and taking the first offer they're given. But we'd done as Martin advised and done our research beforehand, and stuck to our guns. I lost count of how many hours we wasted hanging around on the phone, it's a good thing we're stuck at home!

    That would have been the end of it, but because my mum wanted the account back in her name (it had been in my name following my father's passing in late 2018) Virgin decided they needed to temporarily switch off our broadband and TV while they did the changeover. The broadband didn't come back on, and we wasted several more hours on the phone trying to find out what was wrong, before being informed that they'd need to book an engineer to come out and investigate, and that wouldn't be until this Tuesday. Our hearts sank at this point, because we rely on the broadcast to order our groceries online as we're both shielding at home. Thankfully, the broadband did return on Saturday, but my opinion of Virgin Media is now at an all-time low!

    We have broadband with Utility Warehouse, and they have been very helpful.
    I am working from home and have resorted to cable from router to my PC to try and improve the speed.
    I live in a small town in the Midlands on a major route, of 7000 population, we have Fibre to the local exchange but, Open Reach have no plans to extend to the houses, there is Virgin in the town but it is very hit and miss depending where you live.

    I'm with nowtv but we don't have any telly with it, the B/B and phone package was cheaper than switching so out of contract with them.
    Nothing to see here, move along.

    I'm with Post Office, just have basic ADSL, I'm quite close to exchange so speeds are good whoever I'm with.
    It's very cheap - Had 12 months contract @ £15.90 - this ends in March then I've got another 12 months fixed @ £17 per month.
    I believe they are being bought out by Shell energy but I've had email confirmation that they will honour the price for the full 12 months contract.
    It works ok, no complaints, I watch a lot of catch up and binge watch Netflix and connection seems to cope.
    £52,365 owing December 2017.

    How would I rate Virgin Media? Well they recently cancelled my mobile sim for no reason and lost the number I have had for 20 years and can't get it back.

    Surely I must be exaggerating right? Nope, here's a call recording:

    Did you have the sim card as part of a package with Virgin Media?  If you cancelled your services, when you first phoned in, the sim card should have reverted to a rolling contract with Virgin Mobile.  When retentions called you back  for  package offers, was the sim card  included in the package/ price?

    I’m with plusnet and wanted to split the 2.4 and 5 ghz networks on my router. It breaks everything. Couldn’t get it to work even with their help. Ended up switching. Would probs rate them 2/10.
