Normal freeview TV without being smart

The problem I had with my Sharp smart tv was I remember during set up it wanted to be connected to broadband to let the tv set up location and address details as a security feature with a pin number in case it got stolen, which is great but it wouldn't let me skip past that section. So I dread to think how we would do that at parents house with no internet.
My only option would be to set it up at my house and take it to them afterwards, but would it still work at their house?
Worst case is you would set up a wifi hot spot on your mobile to temporarily connect the TV to the internet if such a thing did happen with your new parents TV but I'll bet my 4K TV on your parents new one not needing the internet to use it.

My current TV (Sony Bravia about 2 years old) requires the setting of a 4 digit PIN when setting up the set and without entering this, it's impossible to complete the set up procedure.
It there so that if you can use the parental lock option if you wish.
This is the screen that's displayed:

Oh for the days when the only thing you had to worry about was the horizontal hold.2

Ive bought a couple of non smart tvs recently. Both 40" tvs ( easier on the eyes for your grandparents?) one was £209 from ao.com, sadly it broke after 3 months but customer services were great and gave me the money back straight away in one phone call. Maybe i was just unlucky with that tv. Replaced that one with a 40" JVC from currys at £249, the telly is fine, but i dread to think how i would get on with customer services if this one breaks......."It is not uncommon for slight acquaintances to get married, but a couple really have to know each other to get divorced." - Anonymous0

Not a make I've ever heard of but if you can find one in a local store (when they are open again), it's only £119 and comes with a 6 year guarantee.
According to some of the reviews, the sound isn't too good but I'm sure a cheap sound bar or external speaker will fix that.
There's also this one on Amazon:

When looking for a new TV it's worth checking online reviews to get an idea of just how good it is from other users or technical sites such as Expert Reviews etc.0 -
