in Credit cards
Trying to buy a dress from La La Mira and got this email regarding my payment. Never had anything like this before and I am worried about sending the details they have requested.
Is this legit?
The company have a dodgy record on Trust Pilot.
Thanks in advance for comments.

I would run a mile from this. There is no need for them to have this information to process an online purchase like this.2

So basically they are saying/claiming they've had issues with international payments via their chosen partner and and want to validate that you are actually the cardholder hence wanting to see a photo of the card with your ID but noting you can obscure most the card number.
The USA (assumed given the credit is in USD) is a little paranoid at times and backwards, I've had similar sorts of requests in the past and have obliged without any problems but also had a few companies I've decided I dont particularly trust giving extra information to and decided to cancel the order and go elsewhere. Thankfully they equally have understood and never had issues.
Given you've already got misgivings about the company its up to you if you want to send them the ID or chose to take your business elsewhere.1 -
Don't trust them.
I google their register address, it is a language school??1 -
One of the fraudster alarm bells is poor English. No way is this legit.1

I've interacted with similar companies before who also wanted ID to confirm the order and communicated in similar broken English. It's unlikely to be a scam, but I'd fully understand why someone wouldn't want to send that information and just cancel the order instead.0 -

I would guess that they have either had a lot of fraud, or are seeing a lot of disputes on purchases. Check out the returns policy...Life in the slow lane0 -
Yes - as above - it's from Hong Kong - returns could potentially be a problem. At least they are not totally hiding the fact they are overseas, but it's easy to think it's a british website because of the .co.uk. Personally I wouldn't buy anything from them - but definitely your choice. At least it doesn't look like one of the usual scam sites - more of a cheap chinese knock off site - so there's no guarantee of the quality in terms of the item you receive.1
