Here I am on page 12. It has been a while. Now working remotely full time. Having some emergency tax issues so not sure what my wage is yet. Also need to pay some occasional travel and accommodation but so far so good.
Much of my time is being taken up with a frail parent. Multiple hospital admissions due to infection. Palliative team getting involved for anticipatory care talks.Mortgage overpayments haven’t really been happening. Hoping to restart this month. We remortgage next year and that’s a concern with current interest rates.2017 - mortgage of £140,000 and interest rate of £10 a day

Good luck with dealing with the parent care. Not an easy time. Not surprised you are struggling to have the headspace to budget and OP.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Be kind to yourself. Its never easy when a parent (or anyone, for that matter) is dying - but it always seems like an extra hit to deal with loss when the rest of the people around you are all about having a good time (no reflection on other people). puts things in perspective, don’t worry about the mortgage ops for now…. You have done so well and will again when you can focus your energies there again … right now, take care of yourself.June 2017 - £295k mortgage/htb

My dad died a few days after my final post. I don’t even remember writing the above post. Funeral is next week. Family currently descending. Back at work the week after. I’m OK a lot of the time and then I’m not. I think this is how it will be for a while. Memories are fresh. It’s difficult to accept he is no longer here.
We have been left a small inheritance. We won’t get this for 6-9 months depending on probate. It will allow us to pay off the small mortgage. The larger mortgage is in the region of £50000 and we can potentially pay off in 5-6 years. My dad was keen on financial planning and would be happy to know this is what we’re doing.2017 - mortgage of £140,000 and interest rate of £10 a day
