NS&i quickest way to fund P.B and direct saver acc.

My belief is that the best way to use ns&i is as follows:
1. log on
2. open a direct saver account - note the account number NB the direct saver account number
3. set up a faster payment with your bank using the generic NS&I sort code / account number with your direct saver account number as the reference.
From now on, use faster payments to fund direct saver. If you want PB then logon to NS&I and transfer the money from DS to PB - it is instantaneous.2 -
I think Santander has a limit of £25000 in a single transaction, so as others have said splitting the transaction into smaller amounts will work fine.0

Over the years I have had a couple of small various issues with purchasing PBs. Timings sometimes go awry, Debit card transaction sometimes don't go through. But think that I have only missed one month of entries in all that time so no big deals anyway.
For me the most reliable route has been to Faster Pay from current account into the Direct Saver ( mid month or whenever ) and purchase any PBs from within the DS account.
Has never failed us yet2
