Morning all, apologies for the lack of recent updates - this weekend saw me with a headache all weekend plus period cramps so I didn't get anything done as planned so will now have to wait until next weekend!
Still I am doing better today if a bit down and I may look into /research HRT patches. DH is getting on my wick at the moment poor thing, he just winds me up by existing! I suppose that's part of being in lockdown for almost a year & my nutrition levels are mainly carbs!
So I will pull myself out of the doldrums and start dealing with stuff. It was warm enough for a little wander around the garden to examine the state of what's survived the winter and I can start mentally planning for a good garden tidy and planting. Got some bargain camellias for £1.99 each this morning at Ald! so they will go in and I need to think about veg planning this year and getting a big tree out (massive conifer) which we will need planning permission to remove (and probably tree surgeon as well) so I am trying to plan ahead for better things. Been talking to DD about what uni she wants to think about, she has her heart set on CalArt but even if she got in I have no idea how it could be funded and I don't see her being able to go so I have been asking her to look at other UK unis first with a view to doing CalArts as postgrad so we shall see. It will be a whole new chapter if in 2022 both kids are at uni and actually away during the week.
Dinner was a use up of LO steak and kidney and bubble and squeak for kids and chilli con carne for DH and I and it will most likely be pancake for dinner tonight (me some fluffy american style and everyone else likes the crepe type)
Lots of jobs piling up here but we had a little tidy up last night but it just feels like we are holding back the tide of stuff to do/want to get done
Tomorrow is another day!.....

Morning all,It's a bit grey but the temperature feels a treat after being so cold for sooo long.I went a bit further with Bigdog this morning, rather than rushing to get back in the warm - I'm not sure whether she was grateful or notDH is attempting his 1st days work since we got Covid, he has DS2 to do the heavy stuff but I predict he'll be asleep as soon as he's had his tea, which will be burgers tonight, & I'd like to get the meat sauce done for lasagne tomorrow as well.Enjoying your reminiscences, & Gers sounds like your DM was surprised at all her new art stuff, great she's got something she loves doing.I had a nice afternoon yesterday pottering about making cards, so hopefully more of the same today - there are quite a few birthdays coming up so I like to have a few ready. Also had a good chat to my cousin, she was pleased to hear me sounding better, she was very good offering help & checking up on us while we were poorly. Now the ice has melted, and the hosepipe, I was able to swill the flags at the back.Unfortunately the plastic has cracked on the attachment due to the ice ,and water shot everywhere including Ly1as earSending get well wishes to AOD,Dumpling,Marie, and anyone else who needs one, stay safe xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Gers, I knew you had a birthday coming up, TA has as well I think, and mine's next week. There are a few of we Pisceans on here!TA , I used to love a bar of Five Boys, my dad used to buy me one every Saturday, Also Monnagran mentioned Ovaltine tablets, I liked those too, and that Fry's cream bar with different flavours, lovely.Sorry to hear you've not been well Sam, hope you'll soon feel better.11

dp1 said:Morning everyone
Started a new book yesterday 'Where the Crawdads sing' - recommended it by eldest DD and I'm really enjoying it. I have jobs to do this morning so I'm not 'allowed' to read it till after lunch. I want to give the bathrooms a good clean as the towels will dry outside today - I hate drying them inside as they're always hard. I've got all the 'too big' clothes for little one washed and ironed so I have those to put in boxes and have some stuff to sort into bin bags for when the charity shops re-open.
Not planning to go out unless dads new sky hub is delivered, I think it will be tomorrow at the earliest though. So I'd better get on - the sooner I do something useful, the sooner I can read.
Hope everyone has a good day9 -
Sam I had the patches for years ( about 10 I think) as I didn't react well with the tablets, mind you I had to start them in my early 40's.nanFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently9

The car was collected at 9.45a.m. and has just been dropped off, service and MOT. No pain except to my bank account!I remember Horlicks tablets rather than Ovaltine ones. My swimming team was loosely sponsored by them in the early 70s so we got boxes of the tubes of tablets, very yummy indeed. Scarlet - the five flavours bar was my favourite whilst my Dad enjoyed the standard Fry's Chocolate Cream right up until he had his last illness. I still find it difficult to avoid a Fry's Turkish Delight, it's the texture I really like. After the bill for the car I'm off to lie down and listen to the last hour of my book.8
