I cant for the life of me understand why you would add fake structural support to make your house look pretty! As others say immediate turn off for buyers. I can tell you now any buyer will want to negotiate the price if their survey picks up the damp and it usually changes the train of thought about the house which could make people think what else is wrong and is there other areas affected by damp etc. Have you asked for feedback in detail as to why 3 buyers have pulled out? Thanks so much for your comments, the crosses were put on by us and are just fixed on the front of the house so we’re know they’re not structural. The structural surveyor spotted that straight away and had no issues with them. We have thought about doing the bits of damp but we’re very open to negotiating on the price and we’re hoping somebody else would be willing to do the work for a reduction in sale price. Maybe it is better if we get it done ...
