    Terribly sorry if I didn't explain it very well old chap... are you sure you're not my wife in disguise, that's the sort of backhanded compliment I'd get from her after helping her save a shedload of tax...  :D  :D  :D

    It is all about the 'net adjusted income', the thing is though, that will only keep me going another 3 years, at that time my net adjusted income will be at £100k. I only work part time, so my employment income is only a small percentage of my overall (non ISA and dividend income from my SIPP) income, so after 3 years, going forward, I am going to have to consider something like investment bonds.

    EDIT: Although refurbishing one of my rental properties would help too, which I intend to do prior to selling, roughly in about that same timescale of 3 to 5 years.
