If you're ripping the old outyourself, you'll need to think of the gas situation on the cooker.

The sink is easier. Get a pack of push fit end stops for the pipes & as long as you turn all the water off BEFORE you start & give yourself enough copper pipe end to push these on to, you can either cut off pipes under the sink, or undo the taps.

Good luck with your kitchen, we fitted an Ikea kitchen in September and love it. I'm not sure if you bought your worktop there, but if not, we found it was best to get 90cm cut down to 61 as the units are deeper than normal and you will have no overhang from a 60cm deep top. Also you can get a 60cm deep cupboard to go over your fridge.
There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.

Thanks Ikea online, ordered the worktop online and got delivered last week.

I haven't seen any wall units that are 60cm deep. will have a further look, thanks for the tip

thought to post the partially finished pics, including a workaround for having sockets / switches on hardened glass splashbacks

Ok, I'm loving that! H and I were talking about having red gloss in our next house which is a nice co-incidence :) The floor to ceiling cabinets look really expensive!

Are those floor tiles from B&Q?

    So many questions, LOL!

Is that the kitchen you have in your flat vansboy?

Well done Suniil - that looks super!

Yes, same as ours, but looks posher, with those tiles - think they are the B&Q ones, that I thought looked not so clever - Suniil must have polished those a few times!!

I lik your handles a lot! And the plug sockets/switches!

I've used those tiles in kitchens and bathrooms recently aswell! Do we buy everything the same :rotfl:

Sorry about David Baily style footwear!!

& I like the handles even more - they were free!! Left overs from girl across the road who refitted her kitchen, with one that had only been installed in her friends house for 18months!!

    Moneysaving, or what!!

& I promise not to have my spies follow you around the dIY sheds to copy you anymore Doozergirl!!

Wow that looks fantastic. I was looking at those high cabinets that reach the ceiling. They look brilliant. All I need now is for DH to do the extension!

Thanks guys! that's B&Q tiles, learnt the lesson of moneysaving tip after having very expensive Italian polished porcelien tiles Living room upstairs (already broken one!, but B&Q ones are alright).

That switches / sockets are Aurora brand, specially made for undercabinet. Plinth lightings are again from Ikea (dioder strips).

And finally, fully wired with gigabit networking / Satellite / voice stuffs! Don't ask me Part P, certified etc but I've had hob replaced by Corgi certified guy!

Otherwise it's just a budget kitchen, costed just £3000!

:rotfl: I took the picture facing the fridge to avoid reflection on cabinet
