I think there are special food courier insurance policies which you have to have.0

First of all check with them, some of these services provide a top up insurance for the courier work whilst you are working with them.
If they don't you have two options, firstly is to buy a commercial courier policy which will cover hire for reward or alternatively there are "pay on use" type policies that add on courier cover on top of your own policy... they can be good value if you are doing it as a trial or just occasionally but are very expensive if you are doing it 5 days a week 48 weeks a year.0 -
You may need more than business cover, call your insurance company as it may come under hire and reward.
Any top up insurance is for the benefit of the delivery company, not you.0 -
Basic research on Uber site which details what insurance you need if using a vehicle:
3. Certificate of Motor Insurance
- Must cover food delivery or hire and reward not excluding food delivery

So Uber Eats themselves don't provide courier insurance which is fine but why do you say that if the OP buys their own top up cover that it only benefits Uber Eats?0 -
If the OP crashes and loses £500 of food, that policy benefits Uber Eats as they don't have to pay out for the lost food of their employee0
