2 credit cards or 1 both 0%

in Credit cards
Hi, I have 2 credit cards both on 0%.
The new credit card has enough credit available to move the 2nd credit card amount on to it. The new credit card is 0% for 12 months which has the credit available to put all on 1 card. The second has about 18 months.
The question should I put all of it on to 1 credit card or keep both of them as both are 0%?

Keep both of them, no point paying a fee to transfer the balance if you are not paying interest, use one (not the BT card) for monthly expenditure and pay off in full each month to build your credit history2

I would pay the one with the lowest balance off quickly if possible. Doesn't make a difference but it might feel better just to have one debt of (say) £1000 than 2 of £500. Same amount, obviously but you might feel the opposite! Now a gainfully employed bassist again - WooHoo!1

Neither card is used, they both sit in my drawer. I wish I could pay it off in full.Deleted_User said:Keep both of them, no point paying a fee to transfer the balance if you are not paying interest, use one (not the BT card) for monthly expenditure and pay off in full each month to build your credit history0 -
What I mean is, say you have the below
Card A, 0%, 12 months, owe £500
Card B, 0% 18 months, owe £2000
Pay off card A, then use it for your monthly spending, paying off in full every month even if it's only £50
Keep paying off card B as a BT card
It might help if you can post more specific details though like the balances, how long they have left on 0%, the fee to transfer etc - then people can help you work out if it's better to pay off one or transfer it0 -
I would set both to minimum payments, put all spending on the card that runs out last, put as much cash as you can into a savings account ready to pay them off when the rate ends & switch to spending on the other card only if you run out of credit limit.rhysrpj said:Hi, I have 2 credit cards both on 0%.
