Postage issues from EU post Brexit

I ordered a snowboard from Salomon who are based in France. It does say on their website that orders may be subject to delays but it's now been over a month and the tracking still says it's at french customs.

Does anyone know what my options are in terms of requesting a cancellation and refund? It seems like things are just sitting at customs indefinitely.

Is it the same courier all the way through?

Have ordered two smaller items recently and both were sent with the French La Poste but handled by Parcel Force in the UK... both times La Poste's website stopped updating when it got to customs but then a few days later got a text from Parcel Force say they'd be delivering (on the first parcel - second parcel no such message but the item just turned up after a few days again).

You bought from France so French law will determine your rights to cancel etc, what are the sellers T&Cs?

  • You might be crying whjen you get hit with VAT a second time unless Salomon deducted French VAT.
  • Terms state that the site is governed by the laws of the United Kingdom:

    www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2013/3134/regulation/42/made

    (2) Unless the trader and the consumer have agreed otherwise, the contract is to be treated as including a term that the trader must deliver the goods to the consumer.

    (3) Unless there is an agreed time or period, the contract is to be treated as including a term that the trader must deliver the goods—

    (a)without undue delay, and

(b)in any event, not more than 30 days after the day on which the contract is entered into.

Options are to quote the above and push for a refund or give it a bit longer for delivery.  Their terms do also state:

Delivery date will not exceed 30 days, unless you specifically agree to a later date.

So they appear to be abiding by the requirements on this aspect if they adhere to their terms.
