Came back to send hugs to AOD - that sounds very nasty indeed, keep taking the tablets!Taff - glad it all went well and good luck in your cook-a-thon.No heating this morning
instruction manual has no instructions about repressurising and the internet has proved useless so I've posted on the 'homes' board hoping for a person to help. The heating company are not operating a weekend service because of staffing and COVID. We'll not freeze too much, DM has her electric blanket and will stay under her duvet. I can pile on jumpers and even snuggle back under my own duvet if needed.
Meanwhile I've primed the breadmaker and flatten all the cardboard boxes ready for taking away. There's DM's pill box to fill and I can fiddle about in the pantry sifting through ancient bottles of essences, rancid nuts and tins of treacle.11 -
Morning all, well we did have the snow all day yesterday ! (Apologies to Derek the weatherman.) Then we had frost last night and now the rain, but still there's that strong wind blowing.I'm having a Sloth Sunday too a la TA ( thanks for the name ) although I may have an x-box session with my beloved later......... or Mr Fix It if no-one else turns up
That's a workout in itself and then of course there is some reading and TV watching/ catch up or films. I recorded The Drowning and watched 2 episodes, but now I need to stop myself going straight to the last one !
TA how lovely of your family. I'll be very happy when I can see mine in person too...... and give them hugs, lots of them.AOD ouch ! Thankfully it wasn't worse but it's still painful. Take it easy and feet up today. Gentle hugstaff back at you with the hugsIf there's any cake going spare I have room in my tins. Don't care what type, cake is cake
Gers enjoy the bread maker. I can't knead anymore either and I'd miss mine, in fact I now have two, couldn't bear to part with my ancient one as it still works but thought I'd upgrade.Hope everyone can have a good day. It's a feet up and watch the world go by. " What another one" I hear the cry !Take care all, stay safe and well.... no falling over please.nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently13 -
AOD - so sorry about your fall - it seems you were very well looked after so just need to take some time now to recover.
I'm a bit late today but I've been pottering about and fairly productive - bit of a clean round and some food prep. I've been taking a little look at my finances and have cancelled some of memberships/subscriptions and will have a saving of £50 per month! None of them were things I will miss so that's great and very MSE!
Now to have a think and plan for some saving on the food shop - I will see what I can perhaps bulk buy to cook and freeze - that will give me a task for the day! Other than that it will be back to reading my book and relaxing.
It seems slightly warmer here today but not quite tropical yet - still have the heating on and off every 5 minutes!
It's sausages with swede mash, cauliflower and broccoli for lunch and I had porridge earlier. I have some crumpets so may have some for tea this evening.
Have a great day all.

Morning, hugs if you need one, especially AOD, hope its not your writing arm!!
Busy day yesterday. As many of you know I make quilts, have not done much recently, I gave up making big quilts just could not cope with them any more. I bought an embroidery machine and have been concentrating on that. The lack of shelves was bugging me so yesterday the joiner came and put up two shelves I can reach, very vertically challenged these days, still loosing height in spite of the awful medicine I have to take. He also put up a sturdy shelf for my combi micro. I also cooked a gammon joint, made soup from the liquor and also a loaf, we were running short of bread.
I did make a play mat for my Great grand son when he was born 3 years ago, one of the last quilted things I made. Recently I got a message from him, please Great Nana, will you make me a bigger blanket, I is a big boy now and my feet stick out from under my blanket. Apparently ever since he was a baby the playmat has been used to cover him up when he has a nap at Nannies, my daughters. So........ I started looking for fabric, he is mad on construction vehicles, I eventually found was I was looking for. I had already embroidered 6 vehicles onto blocks to run down the centre of the quilt. I had hoped to finish it for Christmas, but that did not happen, so its his birthday next month, he is 4, where did the years go,? I hope to have it finished by then. Once the joiner had gone I put the sewing room back to rights and made another couple of blocks, I have 8 more to do, then layer up the quilt and quilt it. I am going to do it on the machine, just in the ditch. Finger crossed I get it finished.
Its a bit warmer today, 1+ DB tells me, so the snow is disappearing at last.11 -

Afternoon all
Nannywindow - I watched 3 episodes of 'The Drowning' last night - it's really good isn't it? I saved the last one for tonight, as it was 11.15 and I knew little one would be awake by 7 this morning.
Nice morning, building with Duplo with little one. I got dad's laptop sorted yesterday so he could listen to his books but no internet as his router has stopped working. I've ordered him a new one this morning, hopefully it will be here in a few days.
little one has gone to her daddy's so I'm going to have a quiet afternoon with my Sunday Times. Very icy so I'm not venturing out today
AOD take it easy after your fall11 -
