CCJ against car garage

They just ignored. When I Google the name of the garage it seems the company has changed its name but its still the same website and says the old company name on there as well. I am worried now they have started up a new company to avoid paying. Seems daft to have to send letters etc. first as all this does is give them prior warning to close the company and start a new one.George_Michael said:Did the garage make any representation regarding the court action or did the simply ignore?
Is there anyway of checking which company is trading etc?0 -
Look at the Companies House web site.Manchesterlad87 said:

If the limited company you bought from no longer exists your money has gone.0 -
https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/ appears to be the new Companies House web site
If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -
I can't find either of the company names on there. I did reference the bloke we bought through on the claim. Will we be able to enforce it on him?Ectophile said:https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/ appears to be the new Companies House web site0 -
Do the "company names" look like limited companies? (i.e. "Limited" at the end, company number, registered office)Manchesterlad87 said:

So is there a chance that the company you sued in court doesn't even exist? I which case, your CCJ would be worthless. You need to find out who you actually bought the car from. If the paperwork has a trading name, but no company details (particularly, a registered address and company registration number), then your claim is against whoever sold you the car.If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0
