Renewing car insurance

I have received a renewal quote from my current insurer, which expires if I do nothing.  I have found a new quote via the comparion sites with the same company but around £20 cheaper.  As it is so difficult contacting companies because of covid at the moment, can I just take out the comparison site quote and just leave the current renewal quote to cancel?  Or should I try and contact the customer?

If you're sure the renewal quote is set to expire and will not auto renew then you can just take out the new insurance and leave the old one to lapse.
